Mobile bar in Highland Park, TX Horse trailer bar & bartenders

Bring a restored vintage horse trailer bar and a TABC-certified bartending team to your Highland Park home. Double R is licensed to provide and serve the alcohol, so hosting a backyard party, rehearsal dinner, or Christmas open house can be as hands-off as you like.

Hosting in the Park Cities

A real bar for the backyard, not a folding table.

Highland Park parties tend to happen at home: on the back lawn, beside the pool, or across a garden that took years to grow. Our restored horse trailer gives those spaces a proper bar, with a garland-draped counter, a chalkboard menu, and bartenders who keep drinks moving so you can stay with your guests. It looks great in daylight and after dark, which is why it tends to end up in the party photos.

Double R grew out of Tracy and Kent Rathbun's years in restaurant hospitality, and we run the bar the same way: we arrive early, we're ready before the first guest, and we clean up after the last one. Read our story, or look at our packages to see how service works.

Backyard & estate parties

Park the trailer by the pool, the patio, or under the live oaks. Guests get a real bar to gather around, and you get your kitchen back.

Garden parties & showers

Our floral-garlanded trailer suits daytime garden parties, bridal and baby showers, and spring luncheons. Pair it with a light spritz or a batch of margaritas.

Weddings & rehearsal dinners

From the rehearsal dinner on the lawn to the reception itself, see our wedding bar service.

Fitting your property

Horse trailer or bar cart?

The horse trailer is our signature. It's 12 feet long (17 with the hitch) and needs a flat spot with enough clear access for our truck to back it in. Wide drives, open lawns, and circle drives usually work well. It runs on battery power, so there's no cord to run across the yard.

If the access is tight, like a narrow side yard, a gated drive, or a party that moves indoors, ask about our mobile bar cart. It's a portable setup with the same bartenders and service. Send us photos of your space and we'll recommend the right fit before we quote.

Holiday parties are some of our favorite events. Late-November and December dates fill up quickly, so reach out early for Christmas parties and neighborhood open houses.

FAQ

Highland Park questions

More answers on our full FAQ.

Can Double R provide and serve the alcohol at our Highland Park party?+

Yes. Double R holds a Texas liquor license, which many mobile bars don't. With The Whole Rodeo, we plan the drink menu, provide the alcohol, and our TABC-certified bartenders serve it, so you don't have to shop, haul, or store anything. We card anyone who looks under 30.

Will the horse trailer fit in a residential driveway or backyard?+

Often, yes. The trailer is 12 feet long (17 with the hitch) and arrives behind our 15-foot truck, so we need a flat spot and enough clear access to back it in. Once it's parked, it can't be moved by hand. Every property is different, so send us photos or a quick description of the space and we'll confirm placement before your event. It runs on its own battery power, so no outlet is needed.

Should we book the horse trailer or the mobile bar cart?+

The vintage horse trailer is our signature bar and the showpiece for events with room to park it. The mobile bar cart is the portable option for a narrow side yard, a tight drive, an indoor room, or a rain backup. Tell us about your space and we'll recommend the right setup.

How far ahead should we book for a holiday or Christmas party?+

Book as soon as your date is set. Late-November and December weekends are in high demand, so two to three months ahead is a good rule for holiday parties. Plan on three to six months for weddings. Send your date through the quote form and we'll tell you what's open.

What's the difference between BYOB and full service?+

The Trailer is our BYOB package, starting at $850. You buy the alcohol, and we bring the vintage trailer, certified bartenders, ice, garnishes, basic mixers, cups, setup, and breakdown. The Whole Rodeo is custom-quoted full service: we handle beverage planning and the alcohol, so it's the easier choice for a larger or more formal party.

Do you charge travel within the Park Cities?+

No. We're based in the Inwood Road area of Dallas, just minutes away. Highland Park, University Park, and Preston Hollow are all well within our free travel radius of 30 miles from Dallas, so delivery, setup, and breakdown are included.
