Why a Liquor License Matters for Your DFW Mobile Bar
You found a beautiful mobile bar, the date is open, and then comes the question every host in Texas eventually asks: who is actually supplying the alcohol?

It sounds like a detail. In practice it shapes your budget, your shopping list, your morning-of stress level, and how the drinks are served once guests arrive. It is worth understanding before you sign anything.
What most mobile bars in DFW can offer
The majority of mobile bar companies around Dallas–Fort Worth operate BYOB only. They bring the bar, the bartenders, the ice, the mixers and the setup — and you buy every bottle yourself. That model works well, and plenty of hosts love the control it gives them.
It does mean the alcohol is your job: estimating quantities, making the store run, storing it, hauling it to the venue, and dealing with whatever is left over.
What changes when the bar is licensed
A licensed provider can legally supply the alcohol as part of the service. Double R holds a liquor license, so we can plan the drink menu and bring the alcohol with us through our full-service package.
For a host, that mostly translates into three things: you are not guessing at quantities, you are not moving cases of liquor, and the service side is handled by people who do this every weekend. Our bartenders are TABC and Food Handlers certified either way.
A note worth saying plainly: rules can vary by venue and situation, and we are not offering legal advice. We are happy to talk through what we can and cannot do for your specific event.
The Trailer vs. The Whole Rodeo
- The Trailer — BYOB, from $850. You supply the alcohol. We bring the vintage horse trailer, certified bartenders, ice, garnishes, basic mixers, cups, setup, service, and breakdown. Travel is free within 30 miles of Dallas.
- The Whole Rodeo — full service. A custom package where we plan the beverage experience and provide the alcohol, priced around your guest count, timeline, and menu.
You can compare both side by side on our packages section.
Which one fits your event?
BYOB tends to suit hosts who already know what they want to pour, have a favorite tequila or a case of wine from a trip, or simply enjoy building the bar themselves. Full service tends to suit weddings and company events where the day is already full, and birthdays and backyard parties where nobody wants to spend the afternoon before at the liquor store.
Either way, the trailer shows up the same, and so does the hospitality.
